Barbara Friedman

Barbara A. Friedman graduated Parsons School of Design with a BFA, and received her MFA from William Paterson University. The paintings Barbara creates of the farm and rural areas are reflective of the surroundings without exactitude; memory, color, and composition are used to create a transportive experience for the viewer. The current series is a response to the land grabs contractors make, destroying the landscape with structures that pay no respect to the natural geography or history of the area. It is part of a series she calls, "Lost New Jersey." What we lose is far greater than what we gain as the environment and thoughts of conservation are devalued. Paintings seen here are available through the William Ris Gallery, and prints of the paintings are available directly from the artist.
