Belle Koblentz

Belle Koblentz is a new-media digital artist. Prior to moving to digital photography, she specialized in large acrylic paintings with a heavy emphasis on color theory and geometric, modular design. She is a graduate of the University of Texas at Dallas earning a BA in Visual Art with top honors, as well as an MA in Aesthetics. With the advent of computers, digital photography, and Photoshop her work has changed. During the COVID years she went in search of beauty and found it in nature. Now, at the foundation of each art work lies a photograph taken from her environment. It is then dissected, layer by layer, pixel by pixel, altering it with bold contrasts, hard edges, rhythmic patterns, and chromatic juxtapositions, in an alchemic process where nature's beauty is transformed into abstract form, energy and color.
