Hema Bharadwaj

Hema Bharadwaj is a visual artist who searches for the cosmic in the domestic. After nearly a decade focused on parenting and keeping her art alive in sketchbooks, she returned to a full practice in watercolor, oils, and clay. Her work draws on motherhood, menopause, spirituality, saris, pantries, and rituals to create pieces that invite pause and reflection. Hema holds an MFA from the School of Visual Arts, New York, and teaches at the Arts Council of Princeton and from her home-studio. Rooted in Indian heritage and shaped by life across continents, she now lives in New Jersey with her husband, grown children, and aging dog.
