Sharon Sayegh
Sharon Sayegh is a contemporary artist who lives and works in New Jersey. Her work is inspired by politics, her surroundings, dreams, literature and life. Populated within the natural environment my paintings are filled with female figures, animals, birds and nature coalescing to emerge and transcend to a spiritual realm through symbolism and allegory. Materials include gold, silver, palladium leaf, carved walnut wood and jewel tone oil colors that pulsate with wonder for the world she has felt since childhood. She works in oils with gold, silver, and palladium leaf. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from University of Pennsylvania where she studied under Neil Welliver and graduated Cum Laude. She continued her art studies at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. She has received various awards for her artwork.
Sharon Sayegh has exhibited in the Human Rights Exhibition at South Texas College, as well as the Holocaust Museum Houston. Her work is in the permanent collection of South Texas College, McAllen, Tx. as well as other private collections.
She has won the Bernadette Award from the National Association of Women Artists in 2020. She is a member of IGOR (International Guild of Realism). She is also a Signature Member of Artists For Conservation. Her work was exhibited at the ArtFair 14C, New Jersey’s premier Art Fair. Her work was featured at TedXNavasink2014. She was an invited Curator/Juror at Alliance of Monmouth County, Red Bank NJ. She has won many accolades for her art. Her work has been exhibited in New Jersey Arts Annual, PoetsArtists Secondary Meaning: Figural Diptychs curated by Steven Alan Bennett and Elaine Melotti Schmidt as well as Story Tellers Exhibition also curated by Dr. Elaine Schmidt and Didi Menendez. She also was included in Movie Night curated by Rick Davidman. She was featured artist in Artsy Shark and also has work featured in many arts and literary publications. Her work has been reviewed by John Boylan in U Got It, and by Dr. Richard Benkin in interfaith Strength for her Series, "Brave Hearts: Warriors for Peace".
