Yuan Gao

Gao Yuan is an award-winning Taiwanese American artist who has exhibited her work in galleries and museums in Europe, the USA, and Asia, including the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Art in 2024, Taiwan, and Museo Marino Marini in Italy in 2019. Other activities include The Museum of M.K. Ciurlionis in Kaunas, Lithuania. In her work, she explores the intricate and profound connections between people and their bodies. In her art, she seeks to reveal the body as the most primitive and universal language of the human being and how the body itself is a landscape of imagery. In her latest work, she combines the elements of photography, abstract art, and video in an innovative journey that transcends traditional artistic boundaries. While her creations are not sculptures in the classical sense, they embody a harmonious fusion of sculptural and photographic elements, where it becomes a three- dimensional objects that are a fusion of the elements forming a photo sculpture. By merging the tactile and three-dimensional essence of sculpture with the visual storytelling power of photography, and how the human body becomes one with the landscape of nature.
